Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device that can adjust a difference between biases to be applied to a developer supply member and a developer carrier to an appropriate value to achieve a sufficient amount of supply of a developer.SOLUTION: A toner supply amount adjustment operation includes: initially a removal operation to remove a toner remaining on surfaces of a developing roller 13 and a supply roller 26 by forming a solid image (patch B1) (step S2); and subsequently a bias difference adjustment operation to determine a necessary bias difference Vx by calculating a primary approximate expression of a bias difference Va and an adherence amount Ma, Ma=a*Va+b from the amount of adherence from a patch B2 to B4, M2 to M4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 【課題】本発明では、現像剤供給部材と現像剤担持体とに印加するバイアスの差をより適切な値に調整し、十分な現像剤の供給量を実現できる現像装置を提供することを課題としている。【解決手段】トナー供給量調整動作では、まずベタ画像（パッチＢ１）を形成する事により、現像ローラ１３および供給ローラ２６の表面上に残留するトナーを取り除く除去動作を行う（ステップＳ２）。そして、パッチＢ２からＢ４の付着量Ｍ２からＭ４により、バイアス差Ｖａと付着量Ｍａの一次近似式Ｍａ＝ａ＊Ｖａ＋ｂを算出し、必要なバイアス差Ｖｘを決定するバイアス差調整動作が行われる。【選択図】図３
