PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To grasp a fuel economy improvement effect by drive which is performed by a driver while following a gear change indication, in a display device of a vehicle.SOLUTION: Control means (14) of a display device (12) comprises: traveling state detection means (27) which detects a traveling state of a vehicle; current gear stage detection means (28) which detects a current gear stage which is currently selected by a transmission (4); recommendation gear stage decision means (29) for deciding a recommendation gear stage which is favorable in fuel economy on the basis of the traveling state which is decided by the traveling state detection means (27); fuel loss index calculation means (30) which detects an index indicating a fuel loss caused by the fact that the current gear stage and the recommendation gear stage differ from each other; and display control means (31) which performs control so that the index indicating the fuel loss which is calculated by the fuel loss index calculation means (30) is displayed at a display part (35).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】車両の表示装置において、運転者が変速指示に従った運転による燃費向上効果を把握することができることにある。【解決手段】表示装置（１２）の制御手段（１４）は、車両の走行状態を検出する走行状態検出手段（２７）と、変速機（４）が現在選択している現在ギア段を検出する現在ギア段検出手段（２８）と、走行状態検出手段（２７）により検出された走行状態に基づいて燃費の良い推奨ギア段を決定する推奨ギア段決定手段（２９）と、現在ギア段が推奨ギア段と異なることによる燃料損失を示す指標を算出する燃料損失指標算出手段（３０）と、燃料損失指標算出手段（３０）により算出された燃料損失を示す指標を表示部（３５）に表示するように制御する表示制御手段（３１）とを備える。【選択図】図１
