Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence of an afterimage due to repeated printing and an increase in residual potential without increasing standby time.SOLUTION: An electricity eliminating/charging device comprises: a charging roller 42 in contact with a photoreceptor drum 41 to form a charging nip part N between the charging roller 42 and photoreceptor drum 41, the charging roller 42 charging the photoreceptor drum 41 in charging areas 44 and 45 formed on the upstream side and downstream side in the direction of travel of the photoreceptor drum 41 with respect to the charging nip part N; and an electricity eliminating lamp 43 that irradiates the charging areas of the photoreceptor drum 41 with electricity eliminating light to eliminate a charge on the photoreceptor drum 41, the electricity eliminating lamp eliminating electricity simultaneously in the charging areas 44 and 45. A charging roller cleaning roller 48 is formed of a material through which the electricity eliminating light 46 emitted from the electricity eliminating lamp 43 transmits, and the charging areas 44 and 45 are irradiated with the electricity eliminating light 46.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】繰り返し印刷することや、残留電位が上昇したこと等による感光体に起因する残像の発生を、待ち時間増大等を発生させることなく、抑制する。【解決手段】感光体ドラム41に接触する帯電ローラ42を備え、帯電ローラ42と感光体ドラム41との間に帯電ニップ部Nを形成する。この帯電ニップ部Nより感光体ドラム41の移動方向の上流側および下流側に形成される帯電領域44、45において感光体ドラム41を帯電させる帯電ローラ42と、感光体ドラム41の帯電領域に除電光を照射して感光体ドラム41の電荷を除く除電ランプ43とを備える。帯電領域44、45において同時に除電を行う。帯電ローラクリーニングローラ48は、除電ランプ43が照射する除電光46を透過する材質で形成されて、除電光46は、帯電領域44、45に照射される。【選択図】図1
