PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a configuration and a method, capable of more efficiently and effectively removing a lubricant.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes an image carrier, developing means for developing an electrostatic latent image formed on the image carrier as a toner image, transfer means for transferring the toner image to a medium to be transferred, cleaning means for recovering toner remaining on the image carrier, after the transfer, lubricant supply means for supplying the lubricant on the image carrier, charge means arranged along the surface of the image carrier between the developing means and the cleaning means, and control means.
