Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging device that can suppress a ghost phenomenon while suppressing a deterioration of a photoreceptor drum.SOLUTION: There is provided a charging device 30 comprising: discharge wires 312 and 313 (first charging members); a discharge wire 314 (second charging member) that is disposed to be adjacent to the charging wire 313 on the upstream side of the direction of rotation of a photoreceptor drum 1; an electricity eliminating lamp 32; and a light shielding member 33 that is provided with an opening 331 passing a part of irradiation light from the electricity eliminating lamp 32 therethrough and shields light other than the irradiation light, where the light shielding member 33 is configured such that, at least during charging by the discharge wire 314, an irradiation area Ar1 located between a first portion 313a facing the discharge wire 313 and a second portion 314a facing the discharge wire 314 on a peripheral surface of the photoreceptor drum 1, the area excluding the first portion and second portion, is irradiated with the part of light passed through the opening 331.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 【課題】感光体ドラムの劣化を抑えつつゴースト現象を抑制することができる帯電装置を提供する。【解決手段】帯電装置30において、放電ワイヤ312,313(第1帯電部材)と、感光体ドラム1の回転方向D1の上流側に放電ワイヤ313と隣接するように配置される放電ワイヤ314(第2帯電部材)と、除電ランプ32と、除電ランプ32の照射光の一部の光を通す開口331が設けられ他の光を遮る遮光部材33と、を備え、遮光部材33は、少なくとも放電ワイヤ314による帯電中は、感光体ドラム1の周面における放電ワイヤ313が対面する第1箇所313aと放電ワイヤ314が対面する第2箇所314aとの間で、且つ第1箇所及び第2箇所を避けた照射領域Ar1へと、開口331を通った前記一部の光が照射されるように構成されていることを特徴とする。【選択図】図4
