Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction roll capable of preventing wrinkles caused when a web with low stiffness is transported by using a suction roll.SOLUTION: In a suction roll 1, a plurality of suction holes for sucking air are arranged on the surface of the roll. The suction roll has a high suction region 2 including a center in a roll width direction and having relatively high suction force and a low suction region 3 where suction force sandwiching the high suction region is more than 0 and relatively lower than the suction force in the high suction region on the surface of the roll. Generated wrinkles due to the suction roll are suppressed by guaranteeing suction force required for tension control in the high suction region and having the low suction region which can be slid on the roll corresponding to the change of a web width following the fluctuation of tension.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】サクションロールを使用して腰の弱いウェブを搬送する場合に発生するシワを防止しうるサクションロールを提供する。【解決手段】サクションロール1は、そのロール表面に空気を吸引するための多数の吸気孔が設けられている。サクションロールは、ロール表面に、ロール幅方向中心を含み相対的に吸引力が高くなる高吸引領域2と、この高吸引領域を挟み吸引力が0よりも大きく高吸引領域での吸引力よりも相対的に低くなる低吸引領域3とを有している。高吸引領域で張力制御に必要な吸引力を担保する一方で、張力変動に応じたウェブ幅の変化に応じてロール上を滑らせることのできる低吸引領域を有することで、サクションロールに起因し発生するシワを抑制する。【選択図】図1
