PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for biologically treating water to be treated by using an aerobic fixed bed, in which when the water to be treated, which water contains a thiocyanate ion and an ammonium ion, is treated biologically, the thiocyanate ion can be removed selectively and efficiently without oxidizing the ammonium ion and either of air diffusion type (air bubble type) treatment and surface aeration type treatment can be adopted.SOLUTION: When the water to be treated, which water contains the thiocyanate ion and the ammonium ion, is treated biologically and continuously, the method for biologically treating the water to be treated by using the aerobic fixed bed comprise the steps of: composing the aerobic fixed bed in a biological treatment tank; acclimatizing microbes in the biological treatment tank while monitoring the thiocyanate ion and a nitrite ion in the treated water in the biological treatment tank or the treated water to be discharged from the biological treatment tank; controlling a flow rate of the water to be treated per the surface area of a fixed carrier; and removing the thiocyanate ion selectively while suppressing generation of the nitrite ion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】チオシアン酸イオン及びアンモニウムイオンを含む被処理水の生物学的処理において、アンモニウムイオンを酸化することなく、チオシアン酸イオンを選択的に効率良く除去することができ、散気式（気泡式）及び表面曝気式のいずれも採用可能な好気性固定床による被処理水の生物学的処理方法を提供する。【解決手段】チオシアン酸イオン及びアンモニウムイオンを含む被処理水を生物学的処理により連続的に処理するに際し、生物処理槽内に好気性固定床を構成し、生物処理槽内の処理水若しくはこの槽内から排出される処理水のチオシアン酸イオン及び亜硝酸イオンをモニタリングしながら、生物処理槽内において微生物馴致処理後の固定担体表面積当りの被処理水流量を制御し、亜硝酸イオンの生成を抑制しつつチオシアン酸イオンを選択的に除去する被処理水の生物学的処理方法。【選択図】図２
