Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus including a facsimile part, and when having detected that the connection to a telephone line is disconnected, inquire a user whether or not the disconnection is the user's intention, and thereby avoiding a reduction in convenience for the user.SOLUTION: A compound machine 100 as an image forming apparatus includes notification control parts (for example, line control part 71 and main body control part 4). When having determined that the connection with a telephone line 400 is disconnected by a CPU 72 as a connection state determination part, the notification control parts select between notification and non-notification of disconnection of the connection according to at least one of a reception mode of a facsimile part 7, a power supply mode of a power supply part 5 at the determination of the connection state, and conditions preset by a setting part, and when selecting the notification, operates a notification part externally added to and/or included in the compound machine 100 and notifies a user around the machine of the disconnection of the connection.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 【課題】ファクシミリ部を備えた画像形成装置において、電話回線との接続が断たれていることを検知した場合に、それがユーザの意図によるものかどうかをユーザに確認し、これによって、ユーザの利便性の低下を回避する。【解決手段】画像形成装置としての複合機１００は、報知制御部（例えば回線制御部７１、本体制御部４）を備えている。上記報知制御部は、接続状態判断部としてのＣＰＵ７２によって電話回線４００との接続が断たれていると判断された場合に、ファクシミリ部７の受信モード、接続状態の判断時の電力供給部５の電力供給モード、設定部により予め設定された条件の少なくともいずれかに応じて、接続が断たれていることの報知／非報知を選択し、報知を選択した場合は、外付けのおよび／または複合機１００が備える報知部を動作させて、接続が断たれていることを周囲に報知させる。【選択図】図３
