Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device which can suppress occurrence of half-lock.SOLUTION: When a body part 71 of a tooth component 70 is pressed during operation of a lock, a pair of second tooth row formation parts 72 are so expanded along an outside surface of a fastening side plate as to be obliquely separated with respect to a shorter direction S of a long groove 23 for tilting. Even if the state that one second tooth row 62 and a corresponding first tooth row 61 contact each other at respective tooth top parts is generated at an initial time of lock operation, the other second tooth row 62 is engaged with a corresponding first tooth row 61 in association with advancement of said lock operation. In association with engagement between the other second tooth row 62 and the corresponding first tooth row 61, the whole tooth component 70 moves in a longer direction L, and also said one second tooth row 62 is engaged with the corresponding first tooth row 61.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 【課題】ハーフロックの発生を抑制することができるステアリング装置を提供する。【解決手段】ロック動作時に、ツース部材70の本体部71が押圧されると、一対の第2歯列形成部72が、締付側板の外側面に沿ってチルト用長溝23の短手方向Sに対して斜めに遠ざかるように拡開する。ロック動作の初期に、一方の第2歯列62と対応する第1歯列61とが歯頂部どうしで当接する状態が生じたとしても、ロック動作の進行に伴って、他方の第2歯列62が、対応する第1歯列61と噛み合う。その他方の第2歯列62と対応する第1歯列61との噛み合いに伴って、ツース部材70全体が長手方向Lに動き、一方の第2歯列62も対応する第1歯列61と噛み合う。【選択図】図6
