Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear actuator capable of continuing to keep a shaft member in a constant position with respect to external force without installation of a brake mechanism independently from a feeding mechanism, arbitrarily moving the shaft member by a simple operation even when a motor cannot be used, and achieving reduction in weight and size.SOLUTION: A linear actuator includes: a worm 3 to which rotation is given by a motor 2; a shaft member 4 in which rack teeth 40 engaged with the worm 3 are arrayed along the longitudinal direction and a rolling element rolling surface 41a is formed along the longitudinal direction; a guide member 42 which is assembled to the shaft member 4 via a large number of rolling elements rolling on the rolling surface 41a of the shaft member 4; and a support member which rotatably holds the worm 3 and to which the guide member 42 is fixed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】送り機構と別途にブレーキ機構を設けることなく、外力に対して軸部材を一定位置に保持し続けることができると共に、モータが使用できない場合であっても簡便な操作で軸部材を任意に移動させることができ、軽量化、小型化を達成することが可能なリニアアクチュエータを提供する。【解決手段】モータ2によって回転が与えられるウォーム3と、前記ウォーム3と噛み合うラック歯40が長手方向に沿って配列されると共に長手方向に沿って転動体の転走面41aが形成された軸部材4と、前記軸部材4の転走面41aを転走する多数の転動体を介して当該軸部材4に組みつけられた案内部材42と、前記ウォーム3を回転自在に保持すると共に前記案内部材42が固定される支持部材と、を備えている。【選択図】 図1
