Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas supply system capable of being flexibly adapted to various engine or various operating state and request, in a gas supply system for a reciprocation piston internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: A gas supply system has a gas inlet valve having a gas inlet nozzle, and the gas inlet nozzle is constituted to be disposed in a cylinder wall of a cylinder of the reciprocation piston internal combustion engine, so that a fuel gas can be supplied to a combustion space of the cylinder by the gas inlet nozzle in an installed state. A monitoring system for determining a position of a valve body is provided to monitor a fuel gas flow into the combustion space.
