Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waterjet peening apparatus and a waterjet peening method that are capable of decreasing risk of damage to each structure which is disposed in the periphery of a spray nozzle for spraying a waterjet flow and which is not to be subjected to waterjet peening, without influencing residual stress improvement effects due to shock waves generated by collapse of each bubble contained in the waterjet flow.SOLUTION: Among WJP devices 5, a nozzle moving device 4 to which a spray nozzle 1 and an air bag 7 are mounted is disposed in a downcomer filled with cooling water 18 between a reactor pressure vessel and a reactor core shroud 15. The air bag 7 incorporating gas is expanded and placed between a cavitation jet flow 2 and a non-constructed object 6 until contacting a structure in the periphery.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】水噴射流に含まれた各気泡の崩壊によって生じる衝撃波による残留応力改善効果へ影響を及ぼすことなく、水噴射流を噴射する噴射ノズルの周囲に配置された、ウォータージェットピーニングを施工しない各構造物の損傷リスクを低減できるウォータージェットピーニング装置およびウォータージェットピーニング方法を提供する。【解決手段】WJP装置5のうち、噴射ノズル1およびエアバッグ7を搭載するノズル移動装置4を、原子炉圧力容器と炉心シュラウド15の間で冷却水18を充填したダウンカマ内に配置する。キャビテーション噴流2と非施工対象物6の間に気体を内包するエアバッグ7を周囲の構造物に接触するまで展開、配置する。【選択図】 図1
