Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection device with which it is possible to inspect even a film having variation in birefringence in film widthwise and longitudinal directions with high accuracy, and to evaluate its quality over the entire length.SOLUTION: The inspection device, designed to detect a defect in a wide and long film, has illumination means for illuminating the film on one surface side of the film, a first polarizer provided between the illumination means and the film, a second polarizer provided on the other surface side of the film, and light-receiving means provided on the other surface side of the film for receiving the transmitted light applied from the illumination means and having passed through the first polarizer, the film, and the second polarizer, the inspection device inspecting a film in width of 3 m or more over the entire width and entire length and continuously measuring an orientation angle in the film width direction using measured light income.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】本発明の目的は、フィルム幅方向および長手方向に複屈折のバラツキを有するフィルムにおいても精度良く検査を行うことができ、全長に渡っての品質評価が行える検査装置を提供することにある。【解決手段】本発明は、広幅かつ長尺物のフィルムの欠陥を検出する検査装置であって、フィルムの一方面側にフィルムを照明する照明手段と、照明手段とフィルムとの間に設けられた第1の偏光板と、フィルムの他方面側に設けられた第2の偏光板と、フィルムの他方面側に設けられ、照明手段から照明され第1の偏光板、フィルムおよび第2の偏光板を透過してきた透過光を受光する受光手段と、を有し、幅3m以上のフィルムに対して全幅および全長にて検査し、フィルム幅方向の配向角を、測定受光量を用いて長手方向に対して連続的に測定する。【選択図】図1
