Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a natural gas engine using a liquid fuel as an ignition source and a natural gas as a main fuel, in which a highly efficient combustion is performed by an ignition fuel of a small quantity and intake air of a small quantity so that a combustion can be sufficiently performed even if a natural gas is mixed from an engine starting time, and so that most of the calorie necessary for an engine output may be substantially performed by the combustion of the natural gas of the small COdischarge coefficient, thereby to reduce the COproduction quantity thereby to achieve a global warming preventing effect, and a natural gas engine operational method.SOLUTION: As an igniting fuel F, there is used a liquid fuel having a true heat quantity per unit volume of 32 MJ (mega Joule)/l (liter) to 35 MJ/l and a cetane value of 65 to 90, so that both the igniting fuel F and a natural gas C are used to start at an engine starting time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 【課題】着火源として液体燃料と、主たる燃料としての天然ガスを使用する天然ガスエンジンにおいて、少ない量の着火用燃料と少ない量の吸入空気で高効率な燃焼を行って、エンジン始動時から天然ガスを混入しても十分に燃焼させることができ、エンジン出力のために必要とされる熱量の殆どをCO2排出係数が少ない天然ガスの燃焼で賄って、CO2発生量を大幅に低減できて地球温暖化防止効果を図ることができる天然ガスエンジンと天然ガスエンジンの運転方法を提供することにある。【解決手段】着火用燃料Fとして、単位容積当たりの真発熱量が32MJ(メガジュール)/l(リットル)〜35MJ/lの範囲内で、かつ、セタン価が65〜90の範囲内の液体燃料を使用し、エンジン始動時においては、着火用燃料Fと天然ガスCの両方を供給して始動する。【選択図】図4
