Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imide structure-containing (meth)acrylic resin that can be suitably used as a raw material for an optical film excellent in heat resistance and having small birefringence, high surface hardness and a small photoelastic coefficient and the like, to provide a method for producing the same, to provide an optical film containing the imide structure-containing (meth)acrylic resin and to provide an image display device having the optical film.SOLUTION: The imide structure-containing (meth)acrylic resin uses a (meth)acrylic resin produced by polymerizing as a raw material a monomer component containing a (meth)acrylic monomer. The monomer component contains a (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester having a 2-6C alkyl ester and a (meth)acrylic acid and the imide structure-containing (meth)acrylic resin has a glass transition temperature of 150°C or higher.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】耐熱性に優れ、複屈折が小さく、表面硬度が高く、光弾性係数が小さい光学フィルムの原料などとして好適に使用することができるイミド構造含有(メタ)アクリル系樹脂およびその製造方法、当該イミド構造含有(メタ)アクリル系樹脂を含有する光学フィルム、ならびに当該光学フィルムを有する画像表示装置を提供する。【解決手段】原料として(メタ)アクリル系モノマーを含有するモノマー成分を重合させてなる(メタ)アクリル系樹脂が用いられたイミド構造含有(メタ)アクリル系樹脂であって、前記モノマー成分がアルキルエステルの炭素数が2〜6である(メタ)アクリル酸アルキルエステルおよび(メタ)アクリル酸を含有するモノマー成分であり、150℃以上のガラス転移温度を有することを特徴とする。【選択図】なし
