PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication system that can contribute to reducing the length of processing time of linking of users and mobile terminals, including recognition of the mobile terminals and user authentication.SOLUTION: In an authentication system equipped with a plurality of mobile terminals and an authentication device capable of recognizing the plurality of mobile terminals, each mobile terminal has a tag for non-contact short-distance communication having identification information for identifying the plurality of mobile terminals; an authentication device has a recognizing unit that recognizes the identification information, an authentication unit that authenticates users and a linking unit that links identification information with users.
