Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image acquisition device capable of rapidly and accurately determining an image capturing range using a simple configuration.SOLUTION: An image acquisition device divides a sample into multiple areas to capture an image comprising multiple layers with different focal positions in an optical axis direction or a single layer in each area and is configured as follows. The image acquisition device has image capturing means. The image acquisition device also includes specimen information acquisition means that uses a single- or multi-layered image of a first area of a sample captured by the image capturing means to estimate a presence range or the most in-focus position, in the optical axis direction, of a specimen included in a second area of the sample other than the first area, and sets an image capturing range in the optical axis direction for the second area based on a result of the estimation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A 【課題】簡易な構成で高速かつ高精度に撮像範囲を決定することのできる画像取得装置を提供する。【解決手段】試料を複数の領域に分けて、各領域について光軸方向に焦点位置の異なる複数層または単層の画像を撮像する画像取得装置であって、以下の構成を有する。試料を撮像する撮像手段を有する。さらに、撮像手段により撮像された試料の第1領域の単層または複数層の画像に基づいて第1領域と異なる試料の第2領域に含まれる検体の光軸方向の存在範囲または最合焦位置を推定し、その推定結果に基づいて第2領域の光軸方向の撮像範囲を設定する検体情報取得手段を備える。【選択図】図1A
