Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ballast water treatment apparatus and method that enable stable treatment of a large amount of ballast water.SOLUTION: A ballast water treatment apparatus comprises a filter device and an irradiation device for irradiating ultraviolet rays to filtered water. The filter device removes 99.999% or more of L-size organisms having a minimum part size of 50 μm or more, and removes 90% or more of S-size organisms having a minimum part size of 10 μm or more and less than 50 μm. The irradiation device can sterilize 90% of the S-size organisms with power consumption of 13 kW per 250 m/h of the filtered water immediately after the treatment.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】バラスト水の処理を安定にかつ大量に処理可能なバラスト水処理装置およびバラスト水処理方法を提供する。【解決手段】 濾過装置と、濾過された濾過水に紫外線を照射する照射装置とを備えたバラスト水処理装置であって、前記濾過装置は、最小部位サイズが50μm以上のLサイズ生物を99.999%以上除去し、最小部位サイズが10μm以上50μm未満のSサイズ生物を90%以上除去する装置であり、前記照射装置は、前記濾過水250m3/hに対して消費電力13kWでSサイズ生物を処理直後で90%殺滅可能である、バラスト水処理装置とした。【選択図】 図1
