PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably and robustly detect a character from an image.SOLUTION: According to an embodiment, an information processing device identifies the way of deformation of the apparent shape of a character in an input image on the basis of an acquired elevation value. The information processing device stores a plurality of character detection dictionaries corresponding to the variously deformed apparent shapes of characters. When the way of the apparent shape of a character in the input image is specified, the information processing device selects a character detection dictionary corresponding to the specified apparent shape of the character.
