Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which copes with a plurality of image forming speeds and suppresses the degradation of quality in toner image fixation to a medium, even when performing image forming speed changing control during operation.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a fixing part for heating and fixing an image on the medium, a temperature sensor for measuring a temperature, temperature control means for controlling a heat source, to control the temperature of a heating member, a medium conveyance part for performing conveyance, a conveyance control part for controlling the medium conveyance part, after the temperature measured by the temperature sensor becomes a predetermined medium conveyance temperature or more, to perform the medium conveyance control of the medium in a fixing part direction at one of a first conveyance speed and a second conveyance speed higher than the first conveyance speed, and a conveyance temperature setting part for applying a first medium conveyance temperature, when the conveyance control part performs medium conveyance at the first conveyance speed and applying a second medium conveyance temperature higher than the first medium conveyance temperature, when the conveyance control part performs the medium conveyance at the second conveyance speed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】 複数の画像形成速度に対応し、稼働中に画像形成速度切り替え制御を行う場合でも、媒体へのトナー像定着の品質低下を抑制する画像形成装置を提供する。【解決手段】 本発明の画像形成装置は、媒体上の画像を加熱して定着させる定着部と、温度を測定する温度センサと、熱源を制御し、加熱部材の温度を制御する温度制御手段と、搬送を行う媒体搬送部と、温度センサが測定する温度が、所定の媒体搬送温度以上となった後で、媒体搬送部を制御し、媒体を前記定着部方向へ第1の搬送速度又は、第1の搬送速度よりも高速な第2の搬送速度のいずれかの搬送速度で媒体搬送制御する搬送制御部と、搬送制御部が第1の搬送速度で媒体搬送を行っているときに第1の媒体搬送温度を適用し、搬送制御部が第2の搬送速度で媒体搬送を行っているときは第1の媒体搬送温度よりも高温の第2の媒体搬送温度を適用する搬送温度設定部とを有することを特徴とする。【選択図】 図1
