Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide ethylene oxide-containing copolymers as a binder material for a battery, the copolymers having a balance between high ethylene oxide concentration and low melting point, and having a strong adhesion to electroactive particles, even after undergoing mechanical deformation, such as the dynamic cyclical dimensional fluctuations caused during charge-discharge of a battery.SOLUTION: There is provided a composition comprising: a copolymer including ethylene oxide and propylene oxide; and a metal salt selected from alkali metal salts and alkaline earth metal salts. In the composition, the copolymer is a random copolymer which has a weight average molecular weight of less than about 200,000 g/mole, a polydispersity index (Mw/Mn) of less than 1.3, and the molar fraction of the ethylene oxide of 0.80 to 0.995 and in which a peak melting temperature (Tp°C) for XEO selected in the range of 0.80 to 0.995 is below a peak melting temperature Tpmax in XEO calculated using the equation Tpmax=(60-150(1-XEO)).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
【課題】電池用バインダー材料としてのエチレンオキシド含有ポリマー組成物において、高いエチレンオキシド濃度と低融点のバランスを有し、電池の充放電に伴う周期的寸法変動等による機械的変形を受けた後でも電気活性粒子に対する強い接着を有する、エチレンオキシド含有ポリマー組成物の提供。【解決手段】エチレンオキシド及びプロピレンオキシドを含むコポリマー、並びにアルカリ金属塩及びアルカリ土類金属塩から選択される金属塩を含む組成物であって、該コポリマーが重量平均分子量200,000g/モル未満、多分散性指数(Mw/Mn)1.3未満であるランダムコポリマーであり、エチレンオキシドのモル分率(XEO)が0.80〜0.995であり、且つ、該範囲で選択されたXEOについてのピーク融解温度(Tp℃)が、Tpmax=(60−150(1−XEO))で計算されるXEOにおけるピーク融解温度Tpmaxよりも低い、組成物。【選択図】図1A |
