PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape printer capable of detecting closing of a closing lid and the presence/absence of a tape cartridge at the same time.SOLUTION: A tape printer includes: a cartridge attachment part to which a tape cartridge 100 is detachably attached; a closing lid 7 which opens and closes the cartridge attachment part; a lid detection part 52 which is provided at the cartridge attachment part and detects closing of the closing lid 7; and a detected protrusion 83 which is provided at the closing lid 7 so as to correspond to the lid detection part 52. The detected protrusion 83 displaces a displacement part 186 of the tape cartridge 100 attached to the cartridge attachment part as the closing lid is closed.
