Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: transition metal complex hydroxide particles which are high in particle diameter uniformity when being used as a precursor and allows a lithium transition metal complex oxide of a high specific surface area to be obtained because of its hollow structure; a manufacturing method of such transition metal complex hydroxide particles; and a positive electrode active material arranged by use of such transition metal complex hydroxide particles.SOLUTION: Transition metal complex hydroxide particles can make a precursor of a positive electrode active material for nonaqueous electrolyte secondary batteries. The transition metal complex hydroxide particles comprises secondary particles each including a center part composed of a polymer particle, and an outer shell part outside the center part, including transition metal complex oxide primary particles. In the transition metal complex hydroxide particles, the index [(d90-d10)/Average particle diameter] showing the spread of a particle size distribution is 0.60 or less.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】 前駆体として用いると粒径均一性が高く、中空構造により高比表面積のリチウム遷移金属複合酸化物が得られる遷移金属複合水酸化物粒子とその製造方法を提供すると共に、この遷移金属複合水酸化物粒子を用いた正極活物質を提供する。【解決手段】 非水系電解質二次電池用正極活物質の前駆体となる遷移金属複合水酸化物粒子であって、ポリマー粒子からなる中心部と、前記中心部の外側に遷移金属複合酸化物の一次粒子からなる外殻部分とから構成された二次粒子からなり、粒度分布の広がりを示す指標である〔(d90−d10)/平均粒径〕が、0.60以下であることを特徴とする遷移金属複合水酸化物粒子。【選択図】 なし
