Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new imaging system that can photograph images with homogeneous quality over a wide imaging range, and an image formation optical system used for the same.SOLUTION: There is provided an imaging system having n or more imaging optical systems in combination, the imaging optical system comprising an image formation optical system having a total angle of view of A(degrees) larger than 360/n (n is an integer of 2 or more), and a two-dimensional solid imaging element SNC converting light condensed by the image formation optical system WLC into image signals. In the image formation optical systems WLC and WLD in the individual imaging optical systems, the magnification per unit angle of view monotonously increases from an angle of view of 0(degree) to 360/n(degrees), and the rate of increase of the magnification monotonously decreases after exceeding an angle of view of 360/n(degrees) to the total angle of view of A(degrees).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10 【課題】広い撮像範囲に亘って均質な画質の像を撮像できる新規な撮像システムと、これに用いる結像光学系を実現する。【解決手段】nを2以上の自然数として360/nより大きい全画角:A(度)を持つ結像光学系と、この結像光学系WLCにより集光された光を画像信号に変換する2次元の固体撮像素子SNCとにより構成される撮像光学系をn個以上組み合わせて有する撮像システムにおいて、個々の撮像光学系の結像光学系WLC、WLDは、単位画角あたりの倍率が、画角:0(度)から360/n(度)までの間において単調増加し、画角:360/n(度)を超えてから全画角:A(度)までは、上記倍率の増加率が単調減少するものである。【選択図】図10
