PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition analyzer small in size and high in analysis precision, and a method for analyzing compositions.SOLUTION: A food analyzer 10 includes: a wavelength variable interference filter 5 for selecting and emitting a light with a specific wavelength from lights reflected by a measurement object; an imaging unit 132 for capturing an image of the light emitted from the wavelength variable interference filter 5; a storage unit 161 for storing specific gravity data on the specific gravities of foods; a specific gravity estimating unit 166 for estimating the specific gravity of the measurement object based on the captured image of a food obtained by the imaging unit 132 and the specific gravity data; a volume estimating unit 167 for estimating the volume of the measurement object based on an image of a reference object captured with the image of the measurement object and having a known size; and a composition analysis unit 168 for analyzing the compositions of the measurement object based on the estimated specific gravity and volume. 【課題】小型、かつ高精度な成分分析が実施可能な成分分析装置、及び成分分析方法を提供する。【解決手段】食品分析装置１０は、測定対象物により反射された光から特定波長の光を選択して出射させる波長可変干渉フィルター５と、波長可変干渉フィルター５から出射された光を撮像する撮像部１３２と、複数の食品に対する比重が記録された比重データを記憶する記憶部１６１と、撮像部１３２により撮像された食品の撮像画像と比重データとに基づいて、測定対象物の比重を推定する比重推定部１６６と、測定対象物とともに撮像され、寸法が既知である基準物の撮像画像に基づいて測定対象物の体積を推定する体積推定部１６７と、推定された推定比重及び推定体積に基づいて測定対象物の成分分析を実施する成分分析部１６８と、を備えた。【選択図】図４
