Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for highly efficiently producing a furan compound by stably converting a furfural compound by avoiding by-production of a furfuryl-alcohol compound and suppressing the decrease in activity of a catalyst with time while improving the productivity of the furan compound in the production of the furan compound from the furfural compound.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing a furan compound by bringing a furfural compound into contact with a catalyst in the coexistence of hydrogen in a pressurized state, wherein the production quantity of the furan compound is improved and the by-produced amount of a furfuryl-alcohol compound is decreased by setting the molar ratio of hydrogen to the furfural compound to more than 0 and 0.2 or less. 【課題】フルフラール化合物からフラン化合物を製造するにあたり、フラン化合物の生産性を向上させるとともに、フルフリルアルコール化合物の副生を回避し、かつ触媒の活性が経時的に低下することを抑制することによって、安定的にフルフラール化合物を転化せしめて、高効率にフラン化合物を製造する方法を提供する。【解決手段】フルフラール化合物を、加圧状態で水素共存下に触媒と接触させて、フラン化合物を製造する方法において、フルフラール化合物に対する水素のモル比を、0を超え0.2以下とすることにより、フラン生産量と向上させるとともに、フルフリルアルコール化合物の副生量を低減させる。【選択図】なし
