Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intermediate composition for simply and stably producing an α gel-containing O/W emulsion cosmetic which has a viscosity with a very little variation per hour, and excellent emulsification stability, without using a cooling device having a heavy burden on the cost and environment, and to provide a production method thereof.SOLUTION: The invention relates to an α gel intermediate composition consisting of (A) 20-80 mass% of a mixture in which one or more kinds of higher alcohols with a carbon number 16 or more and an anionic surfactant are mixed at a molar ratio of 3:2-5:1; and (B) 20-80 mass% of a mixture in which one or more kinds of aqueous solvents with an IOB value of 1.5-3.5 and water are mixed at a mass ratio of 5:5-8:2. In 65-85°C, the composition is a liquid consisting of a bi-continuous microemulsion phase or a bi-continuous microemulsion phase in which a lamellar liquid crystal is dispersed, and is a solid in a room temperature. 【課題】粘度の経時変化が非常に少なく、乳化安定性に優れるαゲル含有O/W乳化化粧料を、コスト面と環境面での負担が大きい冷却装置を用いることなく、簡便且つ安定に作製するための中間体組成物、及びその製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】 (A)炭素数16以上の高級アルコール1種または2種以上と、アニオン性界面活性剤が、3:2〜5:1のモル比で混合された混合物、20〜80質量%、及び、(B)IOB値が1.5〜3.5である水溶性溶媒1種または2種以上と、水が、5:5〜8:2の質量比で混合された混合物、20〜80質量%、からなり、65−85℃では、両連続マイクロエマルション相又はラメラ液晶が分散した両連続マイクロエマルション相からなる液体であり、室温では固体であること、を特徴とするαゲル中間体組成物。【選択図】 図2
