Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a structure by which a steering column 4b and a support bracket 17b can be smoothly displaced frontward at a secondary collision.SOLUTION: Both spring-side lock parts 40 of an energization spring 32a are engaged with both lock pieces 41 of a support bracket 17b in a state where both of the lock pieces 41 are pressed downwardly. A pressing part 35a of the energization spring 32a is engaged with a receiving face of a steering column 4b in a state where a pressing force is made to act on an upper part of the steering column 4b. Then, in the case where the energization spring 32a which is displaced frontward together with both of the members 4b, 17b interferes with a gear housing 12 of a steering force auxiliary device 5 in the middle of a stroke at which both of the members 4b, 17b can be displaced frontward at a second collision, the engagement of both of the spring-side lock parts 40 and both of the lock pieces 41 is released, and both of the members 4b, 17b are permitted to be displaced further frontward. 【課題】二次衝突の際、ステアリングコラム4b及び支持ブラケット17bが前方に円滑に変位できる構造を実現する。【解決手段】付勢ばね32aの両ばね側係止部40を、前記支持ブラケット17bの両係止片41にこれら両係止片41を下方に押圧する状態で係合する。又、前記付勢ばね32aの押圧部35aを、前記ステアリングコラム4bの受面に、このステアリングコラム4bに上方への押圧力を作用させる状態で係合する。そして、二次衝突の際、前記両部材4b、17bが前方に変位可能なストロークの途中で、これら両部材4b、17bと共に前方に変位する前記付勢ばね32aが、操舵力補助装置5のギヤハウジング12に干渉した場合に、前記両ばね側係止部40と前記両係止片41との係合が解除されて、前記両部材4b、17bが更に前方に変位する事を許容する様に構成する。【選択図】図1
