Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic light emission device that can secure conduction to an upper electrode and is configured so that an architrave area thereof is narrowed.SOLUTION: An organic compound layer 22 coats a lower electrode 21, and an upper electrode 23 coats the organic compound layer 22. A substrate 10 has an electrode pad portion 24 for an upper electrode which is electrically connected to a wire for transmitting power to the upper electrode 23. When the intersection angle between the surface of the substrate 10 and the inclination of the cross-section of the film end 22a of the organic compound layer provided in an area between the lower electrode 21 and the electrode pad portion 24 for the upper electrode is represented by , the following equations (1) and (2) are satisfied. When the intersection angle between the surface of the substrate 10 and the inclination of the cross-section of the film end 22b of the organic compound layer provided in at least a part of the area other than the area between the lower electrode 21 and the electrode pad portion 24 for the upper electrode is represented by , the following equations (3) and (4) are satisfied. (1)tan( )=d/d; (2)tan( )<0.2; (3)tan( )=d/d; (4)tan( )≥0.2.
