Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a muon trajectory detection technique accurately measuring a detection event by the same muon even under high radiation environment and being capable of deriving flight trajectories of muons.SOLUTION: A muon trajectory detector 10 comprises: a measurement start control section 14 causing a measurement section 12 to start measurement of a detection signal on the basis of the detection signal output by any of a plurality of muon detectors disposed in a plurality of layers detecting passing of a muon; a measurement end control section 15 resetting the measurement when the detection signal is not output within reset time set subsequent to a start of the measurement and, on the other hand, causing the measurement section 12 to execute the measurement of the detection signal during gate time set for identifying the detection signal as a detection event by the same muon when the detection signal is output; and a trajectory derivation section 20 deriving flight trajectories of muons from passing positions of individual ones of the plurality of muon detectors obtained on the basis of detection signals measured within the gate time. 【課題】高い放射線環境下であっても、同一のミュオンによる検出イベントを正確に測定してミュオンの飛行軌跡を導出することが可能なミュオン軌跡検出技術を提供する。【解決手段】ミュオン軌跡検出器10は、複数層に配置された複数のミュオン検出器のいずれかがミュオンの通過を検出して出力した検出信号に基づいて検出信号の測定を測定部12に開始させる測定開始制御部14と、測定の開始後に、設定されたリセット時間内に検出信号が出力されない場合には測定をリセットさせる一方、出力される場合には同一のミュオンによる検出イベントとして識別するために設定されるゲート時間の間、検出信号の測定を測定部12に実行させる測定終了制御部15と、ゲート時間内に測定された検出信号に基づいて求めたミュオン検出器それぞれの通過位置からミュオンの飛行軌跡を導出する軌跡導出部20と、を備えている。【選択図】 図1
