Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module in which a waveguide type optical element is prevented from varying in a vertical direction even if mechanical vibration and impact are applied, and deviation in a height direction caused by thermal expansion is also restrained.SOLUTION: An optical module comprises: a mount 101 with a protrusion; a first waveguide optical element 102 fixed on the protrusion; a second waveguide optical element 103 butt-connected to one end of the first waveguide optical element 102; a lower auxiliary member 105, having a thickness equal to a height of the protrusion of the mount 101, which is fixed on the mount 101 and on which the second waveguide optical element 103 is placed; and two lateral auxiliary members 106A and 106B holding side faces of the second waveguide optical element 103 therebetween. In the lateral auxiliary members 106A and 106B, one or multiple projections P continuing in an optical axis direction of the second waveguide optical element 102 are formed on a surface coming into contact with the second waveguide optical element 102. 【課題】機械的な振動や衝撃が加わっても、導波路型光素子が上下方向に変動しないようにするとともに、熱膨張によって生ずる高さ方向のずれを抑制した光モジュールを提供する。【解決手段】凸部を有するマウント101と、凸部に固定された第1の導波路型光素子102と、第1の導波路型光素子102の一端に突き合わせ接続された第2の導波路型光素子103と、マウント101に固定され、マウント101の凸部の高さに等しい厚さを有し、第2の導波路型光素子103を載置する下部補助材105と、第2の導波路型光素子103の側面を挟持する2つの側部補助材106A、106Bとを備え、側部補助材106A、106Bは、第2の導波路型光素子102と接する面に、第2の導波路型光素子102の光軸方向に連続した1または複数の突起Pが形成されている。【選択図】図3
