Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat belt retractor which can improve the constraint performance of an occupant while improving an energy absorption property, and a seat belt device.SOLUTION: A seat belt retractor 1 comprises a spool 2 for winding a webbing W which constrains an occupant, a shaft 3 inserted into an axial core of the spool 2, and a locking base 4 which is connected to the shaft 3, and can be switched to a rotating state and a non-rotating state. The seat belt retractor also comprises an energy absorption device 5 which can vary an energy absorption amount according to relative rotation speeds of the spool 2 and the shaft 3, and a load adjusting member 6 which blocks or reduces load transmission when a load not smaller than a threshold is applied to the shaft 3 or the spool 2. The spool 2, the shaft 3, the locking base 4, the energy absorption device 5 and the load adjusting member 6 are connected to one another in series. 【課題】エネルギー吸収特性を向上させつつ乗員の拘束性を向上させることができる、シートベルトリトラクタ及びシートベルト装置を提供する。【解決手段】シートベルトリトラクタ1は、乗員を拘束するウェビングWの巻き取りを行うスプール2と、スプール2の軸心に挿通されるシャフト3と、シャフト3に接続され回転状態と非回転状態とに切り替え可能なロッキングベース4と、を備え、スプール2とシャフト3との相対回転速度に応じてエネルギー吸収量を変動可能なエネルギー吸収装置5と、シャフト3又はスプール2に閾値以上の荷重が負荷された場合に荷重伝達を遮断又は低減する荷重調整部材6と、を備え、スプール2、シャフト3、ロッキングベース4、エネルギー吸収装置5及び荷重調整部材6は、直列に接続されている。【選択図】図1
