PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of difficulty in operations and high cost for them in a method of covering edge ends of a weed-proof sheet with soil, and fixing the weed-proof sheet by T type fixture and a reverse U-shape wire, generally used as a fastening method of a weed-proof sheet stretched over a nursery bed for a vegetable and the like, and provide a strap insertion tool which inserts a strap into the edge ends of the weed-proof sheet and a fastening method for fastening the weed-proof sheet in a manner to sew it by a consecutive strap.SOLUTION: A strap insertion tool, which is made of a steel plate with a front end and a rear end, includes a projection from the front end to the rear end, a salient part arranged at the front end part, and a grip arranged at the rear end part. An insertion point of the strap is determined at an edge end of the weed-proof sheet, and portions where an insertion margin of a continuous strap can be arranged at both sides are folded to be an insertion tip of the strap. The strap is hooked on the salient part of the strap insertion tool, the salient part of the strap insertion tool is brought into contact with the insertion point to deeply insert the strap into a nursery bed by pushing the grip thereof, and then the strap insertion tool is pulled out. The strap is repeatedly inserted at intervals in the edge end of the weed-proof sheet. 【課題】 野菜などの苗床に張った防草シートを固定する方法としては、防草シートの縁端に土を被せる、Ｔ型の固定具及び逆Ｕ字型の針金などで固定する方法が用いられているが、作業の難しさ及び高コストが課題となる。防草シートの縁端に紐を押設せしめる紐挿入具及び連続した紐で防草シートを縫うように固定する固定方法を提供する。【解決手段】前端及び後端を有する鋼板において、鋼板の前端から後端へ突条を設け、鋼板の前端に凸部を設け、鋼板の後端に柄を設ける。さらに、防草シートの縁端に紐の挿入点を決め、連続した紐の挿入代分を両方に配置せしめる箇所を折り曲げて紐の挿入先とし、紐の挿入先を紐挿入具の凸部に掛着し、挿入点に紐挿入具の凸部を当てかつ柄を押して紐を苗床深くに挿入した後に紐挿入具を抜き取り、防草シートの縁端に間隔を開けて紐を繰り返し挿設する。【選択図】図２
