Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device that can perform a correct focus detection, and can reduce color Moire in imaging devices outputting both of a photographing image signal and a phase difference detection image signal by use of image pickup elements for imaging subjects.SOLUTION: An imaging device has an image pickup element that has a plurality of pixel units for photoelectrically converting a subject image formed by an imaging optical system, in which each of the plurality of pixel units has three or more photoelectric conversion elements arranged in an in-plane where the subject image is formed. Three or more photoelectric conversion elements in each pixel unit include a spectroscopic sensitivity element different in a spectroscopic sensitivity characteristic, and the different spectroscopic sensitivity element in each pixel unit is arrayed so that symmetry is maintained as for the pixel unit adjacent to any of vertical and lateral pixel units. 【課題】被写体を撮像するための撮像素子を用いて撮像用の画像信号と位相差検出用の画像信号の両方を出力する撮像装置において、正確な焦点検出ができるとともに、色モアレを低減できる撮像装置を提供すること。【解決手段】撮影光学系により結像された被写体像を光電変換するための複数の画素ユニットを有し、該複数の画素ユニットのそれぞれが、上記被写体像が形成される面内に並ぶ3個以上の光電変換素子を有する撮像素子を有し、各画素ユニット中の3個以上の光電変換素子は、分光感度特性が異なる3種類以上の異なる分光感度素子を含むこと、及び各画素ユニット中の異なる分光感度素子は、縦横のいずれに隣接する画素ユニットについても、対称性が維持されるように配列されている撮像装置。【選択図】図2
