PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an operation sound at a time of an initial operation of a sheet processing device.SOLUTION: A sheet processing device includes: an upper paper discharge roller 520 which is operated when a through paper discharge mode is performed; a transportation motor 5520 for driving the upper paper discharge roller 520; a stapler 532 which is not operated when the through paper discharge mode is performed; a stapler movement motor 2103 for driving the stapler 532; and a CPU 550 for controlling operations of the upper paper discharge roller 520 and the stapler 532. The CPU 550 executes a preparatory operation for operating the stapler 532 by the stapler movement motor 2103 concurrently with the operation of the upper paper discharge roller 520 driven by the transportation motor 5520 when the through paper discharge mode is performed. 【課題】シート処理装置のイニシャル動作時の動作音を低減すること。【解決手段】スルー排紙モードが実行される際に動作する上排紙ローラ５２０と、上排紙ローラ５２０を駆動する搬送モータ５５２０と、スルー排紙モードが実行される際には動作しないステイプラ５３２と、ステイプラ５３２を駆動するステイプラ移動モータ２１０３と、上排紙ローラ５２０及びステイプラ５３２の動作を制御するＣＰＵ５５０と、を備え、ＣＰＵ５５０は、スルー排紙モードが実行されているときに、搬送モータ５５２０によって駆動されている上排紙ローラ５２０の動作に並行して、ステイプラ５３２を動作させるための準備動作をステイプラ移動モータ２１０３により実行する。【選択図】図５
