Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting device and a cutting method where the scattering of fiber powders produced by compressing and cutting a fiber assembly and dragging into a next step are reduced, working environment and the maintainability of the device are improved and a power cost is reduced.SOLUTION: A cutting device of a tabular fiber assembly is provided with: a compression mechanism compressing the tabular fiber assembly placed on a placing table; a cutter cutting the compressed tabular fiber assembly; and a suction mechanism sucking fiber powders produced when compressing or cutting the tabular fiber assembly. The suction mechanism engages with or is integrally constituted with the compression mechanism or the cutter and moves following the action of the compression mechanism or the cutter. 【課題】繊維集合体の圧縮、切断において生じる繊維粉の飛散、及び次工程への持込みを低減し、作業環境、及び装置のメンテナンス性を改善し、動力費を削減する切断装置及び切断方法を提供する。【解決手段】板状の繊維集合体の切断装置において、載置台に置かれた前記板状の繊維集合体を圧縮する圧縮機構、圧縮された前記板状の繊維集合体を切断する刃物、前記板状の繊維集合体の圧縮又は切断時に生じる繊維粉を吸引する吸引機構を備え、前記吸引機構は前記圧縮機構又は前記刃物と係合して又は一体に構成され、前記圧縮機構又は前記刃物の動作に追従して移動する。【選択図】図3
