Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel technology to directly and efficiently control flower setting applicable at citrus cultivation sites, more specifically, to provide a novel technology for controlling flower setting, not only to suppress flower setting but also to directly enhance flower setting (not the indirect maintenance of flower numbers by maintaining tree vitality).SOLUTION: The invention provides a method for controlling flower setting in citrus plants comprising use of means described in the following (A) or (B): (A) means for increasing the flower setting number due to increase of abscisic acid perception signals in vegetative branches; (B) means for reducing the flower setting number due to decrease or disappearance of abscisic acid perception signals in vegetative branches. 【課題】 本発明は、カンキツ栽培現場において施用可能である、直接的且つ効率的な新規着花制御技術を提供することを目的とする。具体的に、本発明により、着花の抑制制御に加えて着花の直接的な促進制御(樹勢維持による間接的着花量維持ではない直接的な促進制御)を可能とする、新規着花制御技術を提供することを目的とする。【解決手段】 カンキツ属(Citrus)に属する植物に対して、下記(A)又は(B)に記載のいずれかの手段を用いて着花数を制御することを特徴とする、カンキツの着花制御方法。(A):発育枝のアブシシン酸受容シグナルの増加による着花数の増加制御手段。(B):発育枝のアブシシン酸受容シグナルの減少又は消失による着花数の減少制御手段。【選択図】 図1
