Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power modulating device operating at varying efficient optimizing speeds from a generator and/or an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: A continuously variable transmission (1000) according to one embodiment of the invention comprises a first carrier member (1028) and a second carrier member (1030) axially connected to each other by a carrier holding ring (1036) and relatively rotatable to each other. A transmission ratio is changed by tilting axes of traction planets (spherical bodies), which is caused by a relative rotation between the first and second carrier members (1028, 1030).
