Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a porous silica tube that has a good production efficiency of an intermediate layer and reduces a production cost by shortening a production time, and a porous silica tube.SOLUTION: In a production method of a porous silica tube, silica microparticles are synthesized by oxyhydrogen flame and deposited around a rod 30 to make a silica microparticles deposit, from which the rod 30 is then removed to produce a cylindrical porous silica tube 20A. A step for making the silica microparticles deposit includes a first step for forming a first deposit layer 21 having an average particle diameter of the synthesized silica microparticles as a first particle diameter, and a second step for forming a second deposit layer 22 having an average particle diameter of the synthesized silica microparticles smaller than the first particle diameter as a second particle diameter after the first step. 【課題】中間層の製造効率が良好であり、製造時間を短縮して製造コストを低減することが可能な多孔質シリカ管の製造方法および多孔質シリカ管を提供する。【解決手段】酸水素火炎によりシリカ微粒子を合成するとともにシリカ微粒子をロッド30の周囲に堆積させることでシリカ微粒子堆積体を作製し、シリカ微粒子堆積体からロッド30を除去して筒状の多孔質シリカ管20Aを製造する多孔質シリカ管の製造方法であって、シリカ微粒子堆積体を作製する工程において、合成するシリカ微粒子の平均粒子径を第一粒子径として第一堆積層21を形成する第一工程と、第一工程の後、合成するシリカ微粒子の平均粒子径を第一粒子径より小さい第二粒子径として第二堆積層22を形成する第二工程と、を含む。【選択図】図2
