Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep a connected image quality high.SOLUTION: A linear pattern extending in a main scanning direction is imaged by a plurality of line sensors and by matching captured images with each other, a first sub scan deviation amount y3 is obtained (S32). A linear pattern extending at a predetermined angle in the main scanning direction is imaged by a plurality of line sensors and by matching images within a predetermined matching range, a second sub scan deviation amount y1+ y2 is obtained (S33). On the basis of the second sub scan deviation amount y1+ y2, the first sub scan deviation amount y3 and the predetermined angle , a deviation amount x of a positional relation of the line sensors in the main scanning direction is obtained (S34). After a main scan range in a matching region and a matched region is corrected by the deviation amount x, image matching of a document is performed (S37) and images are connected (S39). 【課題】結合後の画像品質を高品質に保つ。【解決手段】主走査方向に延びる直線状のパターンを複数のラインセンサに撮像させ、その撮像画像同士の画像マッチングにより、第1の副走査ずれ量Δy3が得られる(S32)。また、主走査方向に対して所定角度θで延びる直線状のパターンを主走査方向に延びる直線状のパターンを複数のラインセンサに撮像させ、所定のマッチング範囲内で画像マッチングにより、第2の副走査ずれ量Δy1+Δy2が得られる(S33)。第2の副走査ずれ量Δy1+Δy2と、第1の副走査ずれ量Δy3と、所定角度θとに基づいて、ラインセンサの主走査方向の位置関係のずれ量Δxが得られる(S34)。ずれ量Δxで、マッチング領域、被マッチング領域の主走査範囲が補正された上で、原稿の画像マッチングが行われ(S37)、画像が結合される(S39)。【選択図】図11
