Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cell culture apparatus capable of preventing cells from adhering to a column outer surface of a portion above the fluid surface of a culture fluid during cell cultivation.SOLUTION: A cell culture apparatus includes: a cylindrical culture tank; a column standing upright from the center of the inner surface of a bottom part of the culture tank; and stirring means having a plate-like vertically installed stirring blade whose upper part is fixed to an attachment part rotatably attached to an upper portion of the column. The column has a conical portion formed into a conical shape having a rising portion from the inner surface of the bottom part, a diameter of the rising portion expanding in a direction toward the inner surface of the bottom part, and the upper portion of the column is provided above the fluid surface of a culture fluid. The stirring blade in the stirring means is formed in a shape in which a portion of the stirring blade facing the column is provided along the outer surface of the column. The stirring blade forms a widening part which prevents the culture fluid from entering a portion almost above the fluid surface of the culture fluid, which is a gap between a portion of the stirring blade facing the column and the outer surface of the column, through a capillary phenomenon when cultivating cells.
