PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cell safekeeping system capable of reliably safekeeping various kinds of cells respectively stored in a plurality of vessels carried in from a sender, by using cell IDs assigned by the sender according to a different sender-specific rule, without forcing the sender to use the receiver-specific cell IDs.SOLUTION: The cell safekeeping system S comprises: a recording medium reading unit for reading a sender ID from a recording medium provided to a box or the like in which the plurality of vessels are contained; a recording medium reading unit for reading a sender cell ID assigned to each of various kinds of cells stored in the plurality of vessels, from a recording medium provided to each of the plurality of vessels; an administrator terminal device for transmitting the information read from the recording media; a server device which determines, on the basis of the information received from the administrator terminal device, whether or not the sender cell ID assigned to each of various kinds of cells stored in the plurality of vessels is duplicated, and when determining it is not duplicated, which sets the receiver-specific receiver cell IDs on the basis of the sender ID and sender cell IDs. 【課題】発送元に受入先の細胞ＩＤを強要することなく、発送元が異なったルールで付与した細胞ＩＤを用いて、発送元から搬入された複数の容器にそれぞれ入れられた各種細胞を確実に保管することが可能な細胞保管システム等を提供すること。【解決手段】細胞保管システムＳは、複数の容器が入れられた箱等に設けられた記録媒体から発送元ＩＤを読み取る記録媒体読取装置と、容器に設けられた記録媒体から複数の容器に入れられた各種細胞に発送元が付与した発送元細胞ＩＤを読み取る記録媒体読取装置と、これらの装置から読み取った情報を送信する管理者端末装置と、管理者端末装置から受信した情報に基づいて、複数の容器に入れられた各種細胞に付与された発送元細胞ＩＤが重複しているか否かを判定し、重複していないと判定した場合に、発送元ＩＤと発送元細胞ＩＤに基づいて受入先固有の受入先細胞ＩＤを設定するサーバ装置と、を備える構成を有している。【選択図】図１
