The method includes discharging the liquid from a discharge port by allowing a heat element to generate heat during continuous or intermittent application of a voltage to the coating layer, and removing foam generated by an electrochemical reaction. 【課題】 簡易な方法でコゲ除去を行うことが可能な液体吐出ヘッドのクリーニング方法を提供すること。【解決手段】 被覆層を液体の中に溶出させることで被覆層に堆積したコゲを除去する、液体吐出ヘッドのクリーニング方法であって、被覆層に連続的あるいは断続的に電圧を印加している間に、発熱抵抗体を発熱させて液体を前記吐出口から吐出し、電気化学反応によって発生した気泡を除去することを特徴とする液体吐出ヘッドのクリーニング方法。【選択図】 図5
