Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent the wear and fracture of a part in an initial stage even if a sander comprises a mode changeover mechanism.SOLUTION: In a random orbit sander, an inner spindle 15 which eccentrically operates by the drive of a motor 3 is arranged in a main body housing 7, a pad is attached to an end part of the inner spindle 15 which is protruded downwardly from the main body housing 7, and a mode changeover knob 54 which can select a plurality of operation modes by a rotation operation, and a switch knob 61 for turning on/off the drive of the motor 3 by a switch operation are arranged at the main body housing 7 and a motor housing 2. Regulation means (eccentric pin 56 and engagement claw 71) for regulating the rotation of the mode changeover knob 54 at a slide position at which the switch knob 61 turns off the motor 3 are arranged between the mode changeover knob 54 and the switch knob 61. 【課題】モード切替機構を具備したものであっても部品の早期の摩耗や破損を効果的に防止する。【解決手段】本体ハウジング7内に、モータ3の駆動によって偏心運動するインナスピンドル15を設け、本体ハウジング7から下方に突出させたインナスピンドル15の端部にパッドを装着する一方、本体ハウジング7及びモータハウジング2に、回転操作によって複数の動作モードを選択可能なモード切替ノブ54と、スライド操作によってモータ3の駆動をON/OFFするスイッチノブ61とを設けたランダムオービットサンダにおいて、モード切替ノブ54とスイッチノブ61との間に、スイッチノブ61がモータ3をONさせるスライド位置でモード切替ノブ54の回転を規制する規制手段(偏心ピン56及び係合爪71)を設けた。【選択図】図7
