Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screen housing that enables an observer to concentrate on and comfortably appreciate a video projected on a reflection screen without being distracted by reflection on a ceiling surface, or a video display system.SOLUTION: There are provided a screen housing 1 and a video display system, the screen housing 1 including a reflection screen 3 that reflects and displays video light projected from a video source 4 in an observable state, and a lighting device 2. A light emission part 21 of the lighting device 2 is so provided as to light up at least part of reflection 50 generated with the video light reflected at an angle substantially equal to the angle of incidence of the video light on the reflection screen 3 from the video source 4, and also so provided as to directly light up neither an observer 8 nor a display surface of the reflection screen 3. 【課題】観察者が天井面への映り込みに気をとられることなく、反射スクリーン上に映し出された映像に集中して、快適に鑑賞することが可能なスクリーン筐体、若しくは、映像表示システムを供給する。【解決手段】映像源4から投射された映像光を反射させて観察可能に表示する反射スクリーン3と照明装置2を備えたスクリーン筐体1であって、前記照明装置2の発光部21は、前記映像源4から前記反射スクリーン3に前記映像光が入射する角度と概ね等しい角度で反射する前記映像光によって生じる映り込み50の少なくとも一部を照明可能に設けられており、且つ、観察者8及び前記反射スクリーン3の表示面を直接照明することがない様に設けられている事を特徴とするスクリーン筐体、及び、映像表示システムとする。【選択図】図1
