PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide compositions and methods for treating or preventing upper gastrointestinal disorder and protecting the stratified squamous epithelium from injury due to a noxious substance.SOLUTION: Provided is a composition for treating or preventing upper gastrointestinal disorders comprising a therapeutically effective amount of colesevelam or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. In addition to colesevelam, the composition may comprise at least one proton pump inhibitor or histamine H2 receptor antagonist in a therapeutically effective amount. Further provided is a sustained release pharmaceutical dosage form for oral administration to a subject in need of such a dosage form, where the dosage form comprises the above composition and a gastric-retention vehicle composition comprising one or more hydrogels such that the dosage form expands upon contact with the gastric fluid. 【課題】上部胃腸管障害を治療又は予防し、かつ重層扁平上皮が有害物質によって傷つかないように保護するための組成物及び方法の提供。【解決手段】治療有効量のコレセベラム又はその薬学的に許容される塩を含む、上部胃腸管障害の治療又は予防用組成物。更に、コレセベラムに加え、治療有効量の少なくとも１種のプロトンポンプ阻害薬又はヒスタミンＨ２受容体拮抗薬を含む、上記の組成物。更には、上記の組成物と１種以上のハイドロゲルを含む胃内滞留型ビヒクル組成物とを含み、胃液との接触時に剤形が膨脹する、徐放性医薬剤形を必要とする被検体への経口投与用の徐放性医薬剤形。【選択図】なし
