Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable image forming device which suppresses a position error accumulated in acquiring position information, calculates position information with high accuracy, and prevents deterioration of image quality.SOLUTION: A portable image forming device which forms an image while advancing in a predetermined direction of travel, includes: image forming means having a recording head; image detection means; position detection means; and correction means for correcting positional deviation. The recording head is disposed at an interval of a distance Xwith respect to the image detection means, and when the recording head forms an image pattern a, the position detection means detects position information a. The image detection means periodically reads an image to determine whether the image matches the image pattern a, and when they are determined to match each other, the position detection means detects position information b at the time when the image detection means detected the image pattern a. The correction means calculates a distance Xadvanced by the portable image forming device from the position information a and the position information b, and uses X-Xas a correction value to correct positional deviation. 【課題】位置情報取得の際に蓄積する位置誤差を抑制し、位置情報が精度良く算出でき、画像品質の劣化を防ぐことができる携帯型画像形成装置を提供すること。【解決手段】所定の進行方向に進行しながら画像を形成する携帯型画像形成装置であって、記録ヘッドを有する画像形成手段と、画像検出手段と、位置検知手段と、位置ずれの補正を行う補正手段を備え、記録ヘッドは、画像検出手段に対して距離X0の間隔を設けて配置され、記録ヘッドが画像パターンaを形成するとき位置検知手段は位置情報aを検知し、画像検出手段は画像を定期的に読み取り画像パターンaと一致するか判定を行い、当該判定で一致した場合、位置検知手段は画像検出手段が画像パターンaを検出したときの位置情報bを検知し、補正手段は、位置情報a及び位置情報bから当該携帯型画像形成装置が進んだ距離X1を計算し、X1−X0を補正値として位置ずれの補正に用いることを特徴とする。【選択図】図3
