PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing unit and a method for calibrating the information processing unit such that malfunction of a contact sensor due to improper calibration caused by disturbance in calibration of the contact sensor can be eliminated quickly.SOLUTION: An information processing unit is provided with: a calibration section (23) which calibrates a contact sensor (11); a set time elapse determination section (25) which determines whether the elapsed time after the calibration of the contact sensor (11) is within a set time; a contact determination section (22) which determines whether a sensor value of the contact sensor (11) is smaller than a holding threshold; and a re-calibration control section (26) which controls the calibration section (23) to calibrate the contact sensor (11) again when it is determined that the elapsed time after the calibration of the contact sensor (11) is within the set time and the sensor value is smaller than the holding threshold. 【課題】接触センサの較正時における外乱に基づく非適正な較正による接触センサの誤動作を早急に解消し得る情報処理装置、及び情報処理装置の較正方法を提供する。【解決手段】接触センサ（１１）の較正を行う較正部（２２）と、接触センサ（１１）の較正を行った後の経過時間が設定時間内か否かを判断する設定時間経過判断部（２５）と、接触センサ（１１）のセンサ値が、把持閾値よりも小さいか否かを判定する接触判定部（２３）と、接触センサ（１１）の較正を行った後の経過時間が設定時間内であり、かつセンサ値が把持閾値よりも小さいと判定された場合には、較正部（２２）に接触センサ（１１）の較正を再度行わせる再較正制御部（２６）とが設けられている。【選択図】図１
