Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of automatically avoiding character collapse of a handwritten character and displaying a character image free of character collapse.SOLUTION: In a display device (100), a coordinate arithmetic part (39) calculates a size of a character recognized by a character recognition part (37) and represented in a handwriting input pattern. Based upon the calculated size of the character, a display line width selection processing part (35) determines a line width to be set as a line width of a segment constituting the character recognized by the character recognition part (37) and represented in the handwriting input pattern. Then a display control part (32) makes a display part (2) display a character image comprising segments having the determined line width. 【課題】 手書き文字の文字潰れを自動的に回避し、文字潰れのない文字画像を表示可能な表示装置を提供する。【解決手段】 表示装置（１００）では、文字認識部（３７）によって認識された、手書き入力パターンで表される文字の大きさを座標演算部（３９）が算出する。その算出された文字の大きさに基づいて、文字認識部（３７）によって認識された、手書き入力パターンで表される文字を構成する線分の線幅として、設定すべき線幅を表示線幅選択処理部（３５）が決定する。そして、その決定された線幅の線分で構成される文字画像を表示制御部（３２）が表示部（２）に表示させる。【選択図】 図１
