Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply apparatus with a novel configuration capable of accurately detecting a defect including a layer short in a second circuit used for connecting switch means to the second circuit and limiting anti-excessive current performance required to the switch means and a wire interconnecting the switch means and a first battery.SOLUTION: A power supply apparatus includes: a second circuit 36 for connecting switch means 30 to a second battery 14, which configured by parallel connecting plural wires 40 with mutually the same form; detection means 42 for respectively detecting current values on the plural wires 40; and short state determination means 44 for calculating differences on the current values on the individual wires 40 detected by the detection means 42 and, if the differences are equal to or more than a given value, operating switch means 18 to disconnect a first circuit 34 from the second circuit 36. 【課題】スイッチ手段と第2のバッテリを接続する第2の回路におけるレアショートを含む欠陥を精度よく検出可能であると共に、第1のバッテリとスイッチ手段の間を接続する電線や、スイッチ手段に要求される耐過電流性能を低く抑えることができる、新規な構造の電源装置を提供すること。【解決手段】スイッチ手段30と第2のバッテリ14を接続する第2の回路36が、互いに同一形状の複数の電線40を並列に接続して構成されており、複数の電線40における電流値をそれぞれ検出する検出手段42と、検出手段42により検出された各電線40の電流値の差分を算出して、差分が所定値以上になった際に、スイッチ手段18を作動して第1の回路34を第2の回路36から遮断するショート状態判定手段44とを備えているようにした。【選択図】図1
